NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

THE LAST 6-HOUR WORKOUT OF 2026
All eligible Black Belt testing candidates should arrive to DMA on November 14 for the mandatory 6-hour workout by 8:45am. The workout is from 9am-3pm. Students will need plenty of water and a light refuel snack. We recommend an early protein-packed breakfast, but nothing right before to avoid nausea.
Good luck to everyone attending!

Yes! You did it! Ready to get that new stripe or belt? The belt ceremony will take place on Sat. Dec. 12. Students who are not able to attend can receive their belt in class the following week. Traditional black uniforms are required for the belt ceremony.
10am ALL white, orange, and yellow belts
11am ALL Advanced and Black Belts
We can't wait to see you there and celebrate your big win!

This month, and always, we are so thankful to our DMA Families for all of your dedication and support. It has been an amazing year of return for Master Yu and I, and that's all because of the love from our students and their families. It feels good to be home.
We hope you enjoy this little break with the people you hold dear, and maybe enjoy a slice of pie or two!!

Carolina Beach Christmas Parade!
Walk with the DMA Team, Port City Dragons, and your DMA Family at the 2026 Christmas Parade! This event is free to participate in. Families are responsible for their own parking and will walk to the line-up position, where parade participants will be waiting. More details about where we will be in the line-up will be shared as soon as we know.
What to wear:
Students should arrive in a DMA Uniform. They can absolutely wear layers under their uniform to keep warm, and gloves/hats/sneakers.
Parents and siblings are asked to wear either DMA Attire OR Black t-shirts and are encouraged to dress festively! We love light necklaces, holiday hats, etc.
CANDY AND PERFORMANCE:
We are allowed to pass out candy, and ask that you bring a bag to share with the parade viewers. The parade line is constantly moving, and we cannot throw candy. Please jog over to the little ones, hand out a few pieces, then hop back in line, and repeat.
Parents are REQUIRED to walk with a student. Students cannot be dropped off or left unattended - a parent must be present to walk in the parade with their child. This is an incredibly fun family event.
The Port City Dragons will be performing a loop-demo (repeating) for the duration of the walk. All other students and family members will walk, wave, and hand out candy. The music will be loud; the energy will be enormous, and the fun will be a memory we all hold onto for years to come!
